VCE Chemistry

This site is the work of Brian Ellett, Assistant to the Principal (Teaching and Learning) at Kilbreda College Mentone and co-author of Chemistry Dimensions 1 (Year 11) and 2 (Year 12), published by Pearson Education, one of the largest educational publishers in the world. This site will be an integral part of my program at the College.

In addition to my classroom teaching of Chemistry and Mathematical Methods I have delivered lectures for Neap (National Education Advancement Programs) for many years and written examinations for Units 1 through 4 Chemistry. In 2000 Oxford University Press published the Oxford Chemistry Study Dictionary. I wrote this reference text for students of Chemistry in upper secondary through to first year University studies. Some years prior to this I also published (through Macmillan Press) a smaller book entitled VCE Chemistry: Unit 3 and 4. I have edited and proof-read numerous other publications over a number of years. I have also worked as an Examiner for VCAA as well as being a member of the Chemistry Key Learning Area Committee for the same governing body in the mid-1990s.

Prior to my appointment at Kilbreda College and Salesian College I worked for many years as the Year 12 Co-ordinator and Senior Chemistry teacher at Loreto Mandeville Hall in Toorak, Melbourne.
